Meet: Aiyon

A tragic and dark beginning meant Aiyon was living in a world where dad dies from gang violence and abuse, gangs and little hope was a way of life. Aiyon found his way to the support and hope of Inspire, a life skills training program that helps emancipated foster and homeless young people. I met him through Inspire and was amazed at his resilience and determination to thrive and grow. He is studying to be a mechanical engineer and is strongly motivated. The painting depicts what was and what will be if he leans into what the Lord has for him; a golden future. In his words, "I feel like I was in a dark place, but this made it a lot brighter!" He wants to save and plan and work towards bettering himself and his promising future.
