WHO WE ARE.
In July 2015, Brian and Vanessa Peterson moved to Santa Ana, California with a burning desire in their hearts to love their neighbors unconditionally and sacrificially. Night after night, Brian was on his living room sofa reading a book called, Love Does, and one evening he heard the screams from a man experiencing homelessness right outside his 4th floor apartment window. The agony on this man’s voice gripped his heart as he realized, “This very man is my neighbor, and I am called to love him.” From this single moment, Faces of Santa Ana was born.
HOW WE WORK.
Dream it.
Empower artists to go into their community and meet with their vulnerable population.
PAINT it.
After befriending their subjects, artists complete fine art pieces that tell the stories of those without a voice.
SELL it.
Artist then sells the painting to raise money to help individuals achieve their goals and dreams.
CELEBRATE it.
Connect individuals to resources such as medical, mental health, and housing organizations in their city.

We envision a world where every person is visible, connected, and loved. Faces of Mankind is dedicated to engaging and befriending our neighbors through creativity. Our purpose is to bring light into the lives of those who often experience darkness. Our paintbrushes are our resources and the collaborators of Faces of Mankind use their unique techniques and eclectic choice of colors to tell a story. We’re more than just visual artists — we like to think of ourselves as doers, dreamers, advocates, and achievers.

We believe that art is a universal language that spans borders, cultures, and geographic boundaries. A picture is worth a thousand words. Our goal is to collaborate with artists all around the world while advocating for those in less than desirable situations.
